Shane had told Yuna about Father Frost and so she asked him about that. He didn’t really celebrate it at all after he was 12, though, so he hoped she knew he didn’t really want or expect him to incorporate his culture into it. He wanted to be here, in theirs, not the other way around. Russia didn’t deserve Shane at all, and he would never let him touch ground or be sullied by Russian land or air.
He was the lucky one here, who had lucked into this adorable brave man who was pure in heart, innocent and had perfect, soft lips and a tongue that felt like silk in every kiss. And he had parents who were kind and loving. Somehow they’d gotten him into the NHL without, it seemed, even a hint of toxicity. Apparently Shane just genuinely liked it.
