Link is a few sensations short of a panic attack, but somehow he manages to convince himself not to just ditch the princess and retire early in the Lost Woods.

Summary
Link grew up in a forest, was raised by the forest life, surrounded by forest children who ask questions incessantly. The Know It All Brothers ask the most, know the most, but the others don't slouch. They ask the forest what everything is, they learn which things are safe to eat and touch and which are dangerous. Some of them garden, some of them gather harvest from the woods, some of them are better at cooking and some are better at making medicines. They work together in their small community to live happy lives. Even Mido: a jerk, but still the boss. And so they all pull together to work out a hand signing language with and for Link, who can't often find his voice to speak.
A neurodivergent, frequently nonverbal Link, armed with botanical knowledge and plagued by prophetic nightmares, takes on the world.
I'm masochistic and want to do a ficlet for every important scene in the game.

A revisitation of Season One that grabs themes (and some characters) from later seasons, with lots of Dustin-Steve bonding, mistaken identity, DnD metaphors, El being El, Steve and Robin vibing early, and homeschool for the temporally displaced.
Now complete! We have French, Spanish, and Portugese-speakers who've read and reviewed this fic. If anyone is interested in translating, please let me know.
