Or: when Philippe got injured during battle in an effort to protect Corbeau, it was now up to the Rust Syndicate boss to save them from being mauled by Rouge Mega Evolution Pokémon. What he does next was not only a scientific breakthrough, but a sign that their love would persevere, no matter how grim Lumiose city came to be.

Closing the lock system with one hand, Jacinthe glances over to Corbeau with an easy smile. "Ten minutes, perhaps fifteen if we are lucky. Why, are you nervous?"
Corbeau can't help but smirk in response to that, taking his glasses off and putting them in his pocket. "No, but maybe you should be. The Society of Battle Connoisseurs' leader being seen in a compromising position with someone so unseemly? Lumiose will remember that for years to come."
Jacinthe's smile deepens and darkens into a smirk as she almost saunters back into the closet to pin Corbeau to the wall, hands already finding purchase in that expensive suit of his as she presses her body right against his. "That is only if I don't make you come first, Mr. Corbeau. And you should know...I always get what I want."
That devilish smirk on his face in response only drives her crazier.
"Then make me."

"I'm never going to be able to endure another sleepless night without you, after this. You've ruined me, Philippe, do you even grasp the gravity of that sentence?"
"All that I'm hearing is that you love me, Corbeau," Philippe teased, and baring his heart open so casually was worth it, for the flush that overtook Corbeau's cheeks made him believe that he could take on anything this wretched world would throw at them, if he has his boss-and-boyfriend by his side.
Or: perhaps there was a silver lining from having his important keys gobbled down by his Skamory, for Philippe's time of need helped to reveal a problem that has hid itself from his sight, and moved his relationship with Corbeau into a more meaningful one.
