He is painfully aware of the consequences that could have. Has. Especially for mid-mission Shadow Feemor.
Feemor was in the middle of a high-stakes stakeout, when suddenly, without any warning, Qui-Gon cuts their bond. Rips it apart, more like it. Feemor isn't in a high-stakes stakeout any longer after that.
In which Dooku blanks for a few days, saves a caught-eavesdropping-on-smugglers Feemor and Feemors brand new, one-sided rescue project in the form of a very unconscious teen Jango Fett, and starts his career as a hobby cook and freestyle gardener.
Neither of the parties realize their respective affiliations until it's almost too late.

Summary
When Jango Fett overrides Order 66, he single-handedly ruins Sidious' Empire before it can rise. Now, the reinstated Mand'alor is at the top of the Sith Lord's shit list—but with the might of former clone army at his back, he's not an easy man to kill, nor even find among the millions of identical faces.
The clones are finally establishing themselves as a free people on their new home on Mandalore, but not all is as it seems. When Obi-Wan Kenobi suddenly receives a personal summons from the Mand'alor, he isn't sure what to expect from the mysteriously not-dead Jango Fett, nor his former troops. Surprises await him in Keldabe, and Jango and Cody are the keys, but neither of them are entirely who Obi-Wan thought they were.
The clones never needed anyone to save them, but in the process of saving themselves, they might just end up saving the rest of the galaxy.

"As one week fell over into two, Fox’s bruises began to fade, slowly becoming yellow and giving him a sickly pallor. The force lightning scars were taking far longer but the healers had assured Wolffe that it was normal when he’d asked. Fox didn’t look so gaunt, either, which Wolffe was happy to see. According to the healers, that was mainly due to him no longer being dehydrated, but they were confident he’d be back to a healthy weight in a few months.
Despite Fox’s physical recovery going well, the other man still hadn’t acknowledged Wolffe’s constant presence once. A trauma response, so the healers had told him, saying that Fox had retreated so far into himself that coming out in the blink of an eye was impossible. One day, he might, they’d said.
Might being the key word.”
After the war, and after Palpatine’s crimes have been exposed, Fox retreated in on himself, locked in his own mind and wholly unable to deal with what came after.
