Summary
The border crossing was a breeze. Elektra spoke French to the customs official, letting a tear come to her eye when stating the nature of their visit to Canada - a family funeral, on her side. Matthew handed over the passport she’d arranged for him, with its nice, innocuous travel history, hastily pulled off his sunglasses at the official’s request, and gave a friendly but tired smile when they were sent on their way - fittingly, since it was well after midnight.
Through the darkness, Elektra drove.
Matt, Elektra, and the world north of 116th Street.

Bookmarker's Notes
Rejoice in the Lord always. Easier said than done, Matt thought, but then again, weren't most things? Sometimes it felt like joy was a place he’d been banished from. Or, no - a place that had only existed in the past, in brief, flickering, snapshot moments, and when he’d been privileged enough to live there, he’d barely realized where he was.
And again, I say, rejoice.
If it was hard - so what? Since when had that been enough reason to give up? -

History books say that the dreadful Draco Malfoy fell on the battlefield that day, struck down by the most powerful of all spells.
But legends tell different tales.

A shape moved in the fog—dark, twisted, almost human but not quite. Its wings loomed like shrouds, blacker than the night itself.
It stood there, still and silent, watching.
Barnaby’s breath caught, and a terrible realization gripped him: whatever was out there, it wasn’t part of their game. -

Summary
This is a story about life and of two people navigating the challenges that come along with it. Hermione and Draco are both broken souls, struggling with the aftermath of war. To their mutual displeasure, a chance encounter in the muggle world brings them together. Hermione forces Draco to unpack his bigotry, while Draco provides Hermione comfort when she has no one else to turn to. Ultimately, they both help each other pick up the pieces and heal.
In life, as in many things, timing is everything. As they stumble into adulthood, Hermione and Draco are forced apart as circumstances take them down different paths.
But fear not, dear reader. Inevitably, that tug, that pull, is too strong to ignore, and they find their way back to each other once more.

“Muggles have been to space, Granger.”
“Yes, they have,” she responds plainly.
A strange sense of urgency and a desperate need to laugh bubbles up from somewhere deep inside. It continues to build until he can no longer contain it. Draco dips his head, one hand rising to cover his chuckling mouth as his shoulders shake uncontrollably. He feels a touch manic. All the while, Granger just stands there, side-eyeing him.
He wants to scream at his father, that he’s spent the day at muggle museums. He wants to holler at his astronomy-obsessed mother, that muggles are resourceful and clever, and have actually been to the stars!
Draco flings his arms towards the module. “They’ve been to the bloody moon!” he exclaims with a strange mix of incredulity, anger and admiration. Draco is not himself at this moment, but he simply cannot control it. A cathartic out-of-body experience, perhaps. -

Summary
Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy are cursed. Probably. Maybe.
All Hermione knows for certain is that he keeps sticking his pointy nose and other body parts where they aren't welcome: like into her dating life, and under her skin, literally.
Meanwhile, all Draco knows for certain is that in all his fantasies of getting into her knickers, he never imagined it happening like that.
A twist of fate, a statistical anomaly, or a sex curse: whatever the cause, there's (probably) just one solution.

Summary
Five years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the wizarding world is what you might call “a godsdamned mess.” The population is dwindling, the economy is suffering, and Hermione Granger has decided to pursue an arranged marriage—but only so she can be nominated to the antiquated Wizengamot, of course. After all, the Wizengamot is ignoring the world’s problems, and Hermione is determined to fix them. Granted, she never expected to be matched with Draco sodding Malfoy—the newest DMLE consultant who wears his Azkaban tattoos as proudly as his childhood sneer. But admittedly, between the turbulence of her farcical relationship, corrupt politicians, and a serial killer on the loose, nothing in Hermione’s life is going according to plan. Maybe hate sex with her husband will help?
