But admittedly, between the turbulence of her farcical relationship, corrupt politicians, and a serial killer on the loose, nothing in Hermione’s life is going according to plan. The next shrine he found had been abandoned, just like the one before. He found it tugged away in an alcove that belong to the crumbling ruins of an old elvhen fortress. Somehow, it had withstood the test of time despite the havoc that had been wreaked around it. Another thin sliver of hope. Even the eluvians that had been propped up in the old castle had been destroyed, shattered. Abelas reached for the statue and ran his fingers over the stone. That hum again. Not all was lost, then. Point me forward, he thought and listened. North, the faint voice of Mythal breathes. Go north.
And north he went. He went for days, weeks, maybe even months. After a while, he wasn’t certain anymore.
