“Yeah,” Schlatt says. His voice cracks. “Yeah. At least I’ll have you guys, though. I’ll be fine.”
“Right,” Charlie says. “We’ll be fine.”
Schlatt’s quiet. The blinds rustle again. “It’s fuckin’ snowing,” comes his broken voice. “Charlie.”
“I know,” Charlie swallows. “I -“
“It’s July,” Schlatt says. “God, Charlie. It’s July.”
