In the middle of Deaton's larger exam room, Stiles had somehow convinced Derek to stand still long enough to get trapped in a circle of mountain ash for unspecified "experiments". Derek was not thrilled. Stiles was doing it anyway.

I'm continually shocked this didn't happen in canon. It would've been one of the absolute first things I tried, once I got over the whole werewolves-are-real-and-so-is-magic-I-guess thing.

This was a cell. He had woken up in a cell, remembering nothing, and his captors had just fed him perfect toast.

For the record, I'm cherry-picking Draco for this crossover because he's my favorite. I don't condone any of JK Rowling's politics, and I won't give her money or give her works public airtime. This here is midnight crack treated seriously, and is more than half therapy coated in comfort characters. I heartily hope we as a fan base can co-opt her characters and keep giving them life in a healthy way, because they were such a big part of my adolescence and young adulthood.
In short, this is *my* Draco now. She can't have him back.

She could comprehend the words, the name and the meaning. She understood that his name being on the roster meant he was the starting Beater for England’s national team, but for whatever reason, when her eyes ran over the black ink, her brain could not articulate any emotions or reaction.
