  3. Summary

Because sometimes even I forget just how many challenge fics I've written. These are just the big bang/reverse bang collaborative fics that (should) come with artwork, because working with artists is wonderful. If I included all the fics I've written for various gift-exchanges/Secret Santas/fests, I'd have to put half my AO3 works in this collection.

Enjoy the stories and the gorgeous artwork!

    [ a post-Skyfall James Bond and Q-centric series ]

In which James Bond continues his work as a Double-O agent with a new reckless streak and Q is ever the voice in his earpiece, the supplier of his equipment and an anchor back to MI6.

This is a series of interconnected stories on the development of Bond and Q's relationship - as individuals and professionals who take note of and fixate on each other after the Silva incident, who grow close to each other in increments until they eventually become a very important feature in each other's lives. Duty - and soon after, trust - is what binds them.

    Love, possibly, comes after.

  5. Summary

The rules of engagement are different when the manifestation of your soul is capable of walking, talking and interacting with the world. Q and Estelle have always pushed boundaries as the Quartermaster team, while Bond and Bailey have never allowed anything – neither the rules nor the limits of the human-daemon bond – to bind them.

Together, they are a force to be reckoned with, but first, they must get there.

(A Skyfall/His Dark Materials fusion in that this series takes place after the events of Skyfall, with the sole addition that everyone has a daemon. All Craig!Bond canon applies).

    Summary

Mydei stares at him. Phainon isn’t looking back, instead choosing to look at a distance to avoid his eyes like a coward. He even scratches at the back of his neck as Mydei keeps on staring, which he cannot stop doing because he just cannot believe he heard that right.

“You want us to fuck,” Mydei repeats, and for the life of him he cannot stop the incredulousness from seeping through.

Despite his face trying its best to become a pomegranate, Phainon silently nods.

“While you two share the same body.”

    Summary

“Why do you think you’re from a different world?” Mydei asks.

“Last night, I went to sleep in the same bedroom as you in the house we've had since last year,” Phainon says. “This morning, I woke up in an unfamiliar room that looks like it was built a thousand years ago. You weren’t in bed with me, there wasn’t a wedding band on my finger, and”—his eyes flicker to Mydei’s chest, a fiery blush blooming on his face—“you’re half-naked.”

“We sleep together?” Mydei asks, surprised.

    Phainon deadpans.

    “We’re married.”

(Phainon finds himself in a modern Amphoreus where he and Mydei have been married for years. Mydei finds himself with a Phainon that claims the two of them are married.)

    Summary

It was a cultural miscommunication. The product of a cultural difference. Phainon was certain of it. After all, Phainon had hardly been aware of the implications when he first arrived in Okhema. It wasn’t until he attended a class on Okheman theatre at the Grove and they were halfway through analysing a play script from Era Bellica that he was exposed to the symbolism for the first time.

The girl next to him had taken pity and timidly whispered the answer to his question.

Throwing apples was a ploy at seduction.

By the way Mydei happily crunched at the apple perfectly matched to the one he had thrown with every intention for Phainon to catch, and the lack of scandalised attention from the surrounding Kremnoans, tossing apples clearly did not carry the same meaning in Kremnos as it did in Okhema.

A cultural difference over apples leads to some self-inflicted torture on Phainon’s behalf. After all, if Mydei is ignorant to the symbolism then there’s no harm to Phainon indulging in a little fantasy.

    Summary

A slow smile draws at the corners of Mavuika's lips - far be it from her to reject a good party, after all. She raises the mug filled to its brim to the night skies, a few stray drops she heeds no mind to rolling down her bare hand and spilling on her skin.

And there are a set of eyes on her.

Tilting her head to the right, she catches sight of blue eyes and black hair and unmarred skin. "Ah," she hums, and takes a long sip of her drink. "Captain."

"Mavuika," he acknowledges, eyes trained on her.

Mavuika rests her free hand on the log and tilts her head at him. "I suppose I should call you Thrain right now, no?"

(A chat, over drinks and a fire.)
