Playing with both the crossover of genre conventions between Stede's universe and Izzy and Ed's original one, but basically doing a deep dive into trauma response and navigating complex relationships between the crew and Izzy when Izzy is forced into a position where he has to share revealing and intimate things about himself. Lots of focus on the aftermath of abuse and trauma, playing with freeze responses and the way the different crewmembers navigate all this.

Jackie motions towards the man now lying face down in a pool of blood, flies already gathering on his outstretched arms. “You think I want to have to answer for that? Izzy Hands never acted up like this before. The way I see it, this is your man’s fault. I don’t know how, but it is, and if I can’t find him, I’m gonna find you. So you better find a way to fix it. Understand?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Lucius and Izzy have separately washed up and gotten stuck in Nassau, Lucius aimless and having fallen in with another group of theatre kids, Izzy losing his goddamn mind. What's the harm in a little distraction?

When Izzy wakes up in the middle of the night with something hard pressed to his lower back, his first instinct is to think of a knife. Naturally, Izzy does not usually account for the possibility of being poked by Stede Bonnet’s erect cock.
Realization settles in a moment later, as he blinks through the dark and recognizes the shadow of Edward’s head pressed against the pillow. There is no threat of a knife where he is now. The man before him is enshrouded in a deep slumber. The one behind him breathes heavy against his shoulder.
“Packing weapons to bed now, Bonnet?” he whispers teasingly, voice thick with sleep.
“Shush,” Bonnet says so quietly that Izzy can barely catch any sound. “We don’t want to wake up Ed, do we now?”
