She was a contrary child even before. Her first life. The Black family name was such a flimsy, little and unimportant thing in the overall perspective that she couldn't even mime that she cared about any of it. It was one of her more deplorable habits, losing the small details until she'd eventually lose the whole picture. But it was fine, magic is real after all.
Or: She was reborn as Bellatrix Black. She had read the Harry Potter books but she could now barely remember that she was supposed to be evil in those. She didn't really care for anything surrounding her. And then she fell in love with the world.

Yeah, yeah, avoiding the plot was the plan, but a five year old Shimura Tenko wanders the streets, covered in blood, crying for help.
In which a reluctant semi-si/oc purposely avoids heroes, is content to have an average life, but somehow ends up adopting a few broken strays.

The first thought in Ansel’s head is a reference to the Harry Potter books, but Tom and Riddle are both common first and last names respectively, so he shrugs it off and tries to pester the boy into further conversation. Turns out, Tom is nine years old, disliked by everyone at Wool’s, and nobody’s lasted in the same room with him for more than a few days.
