Kirk sits back in his chair and cocks his head in a way that’s way too similar to how Sam would. He looks more like Sam than Jim ever did, with darker hair and green eyes, but has an easy grace to him where Sam seems like he’s constantly second-guessing himself when he does something. “Didn’t you just say that I was the original you? So given that—”
“Okay, okay,” Jim grumbles.

She shoves her hands in her pockets; she's forgotten her mittens. Of course, she hadn't needed mittens until that first winter in Poughkeepsie where she had nearly frozen her fingers off and her roommate lended her a pair out of pity. Her scarf sits around her neck, though, and it's still warm.
Eventually, Erin says, "I was hoping I could talk to you." The way she says it makes it sound like it belongs under a letterhead. Erin winces internally.
"I'm Erin," she tries again, "Erin Hunnicutt, I mean."
