Summary
This is my first ever ever fic so all apologies for naffness and critic’ welcome. I’m in love with this rairpair and totally besotted with Ron Speirs and I have somewhat nicked alyseofwonderland’s idea of an anxiety ridden Speirs and based it on my own miserable experiences. When exactly were anxiety / panic attacks recognised as a thing?

Summary
In 1939, Ron Speirs has a whirlwind romance while spending three days in New Orleans. During the war, that romance comes back to torment him -- in more than one way.
or,
"Which one of 'em's caught your eye and why?"
Ron glances to his side, to where Lewis Nixon has paused next to him. He doesn't know much about Nixon, assigned as they are to two different companies and with Ron coming in a couple months after Nixon and his OCS class, but he's heard things.
"The dark haired one," Ron says, turning his gaze back to the men. "He reminds me of someone I met once."
Nixon laughs, says, "Must've left quite the impression for you to look as shocked as you did, but it's unlikely to have been him. That's Eugene, Eugene Roe. Cajun, speaks better French than he does English. If we drop into Europe, he'll be useful. He's -- he's quite the conundrum, our Eugene."

Summary
It starts out small, as they heave their way across France to Haguenau. Little things. Abandoned clothes they can strip into bandages, a half empty bottle of a clear liquor, thread and needles, and more scissors, when Gene inevitably loses his again. The occasional bit of a salvaged field kit, handed over like gold by one of the NCOs, usually Grant or Lip. Gene doesn't think about it much, at first. He’s too busy trying to make sure half the company don’t catch pneumonia, or collapse from exhaustion. But by the second or third time Lip’s ferried over a small stack of supplies, Gene’s suspicious.
Gene doesn't always know what to make of Easy's new CO.
