Summary
“Why not?” Seungmin returns, a horrible pit gnawing into his stomach. “I mean, it was just a fluke. Everything that led to me winning was pure fluke. Right?”
His tone is searching, his eyes bouncing all over Changbin’s face for confirmation, but he has it masked, a stony expression suppressing any tell. “What else would it have been, Seungminnie?” he asks at last, softening the slightest bit and stretching for Seungmin’s face.
“Don’t kiss me,” Seungmin begs, flinching away. “You can’t—you can’t say we can’t be together and then act like this, Changbin. You’re in love with the idea of my survival more than you are in love with me.”
Or: Seungmin wins his Games and comes back haunted—and there's a familiar face awaiting him at the next year's Reaping.

Summary
“I would like to learn to become human,” he announces to Jeongin, the man sitting across from him at something he’s been told is a chess board. Jeongin is trying to teach him the rules, but Hyunjin hasn’t been paying very close attention, too lost in his own head. Jeongin never seems to mind, he’s endlessly patient, the silly thing, that’s why he’s perfect for this specific request. Not that Hyunjin is likely to ask anyone else anyways, he only has two friends (three if he counts Felix).
Jeongin looks up from the game pieces, his eyebrows raised and his mouth dropped open in a circle. “Huh?”
Hyunjin scrunches his nose. So cute, his silly boy is. “I’ve been thinking about all the human things I want to do, now that I’m down here for good. I want to try everything that I couldn’t do before!”
(OR: Hyunjin enlists Jeongin's help to teach him what's so wonderful about being human.)
