Illuminated by the glow of gold-scorched parchment, the harsh lines of Xiao’s face smoothen into confusion, then resignation. He takes a steadying breath. “You aren’t leaving.”
“I’m bound to you until I find you love,” Venti corrects.
“Yeah, so you aren’t leaving.”
“Wrong! I have a hot streak of success.” Venti claps his hands, the contract scrolling back up into non-existence. “Now that you understand, shall we start over? My name’s Venti, and I’m your assigned Cupid. Your wingman, if you will.”
“... Xiao.”
Or: Xiao is, maybe, a little in love with his Cupid. Venti does not catch on.

It’s customary for the people of Liyue to pitch in for the Mingxiao lantern. Even Xiao can acknowledge its opulent grandiosity—it’s a symbol of unity, a celestial body rivalling the full moon, a beacon guiding old warriors home. In the glittering wake of its trail, he finds reticent peace.
Now, however, he defers his gaze to the maiden on top of the church spire. “I fail to see how catching a ball of yarn is the main event of your festival.”
Xiao's convinced to attend Ludi Harpastum with Venti, and he can't help but make a few comparisons.

Charon stares down at Hermes in cool amusement. He types a message, which pings on Hermes’s phone a moment later.
Charon: What gives you the impression I want or need your money?
“I don’t think you need it,” Hermes responds. “However, you seem like a man of expensive tastes. Mine run the same. And we both know not needing money isn’t the same as not wanting more. Isn’t that right, my good associate?”
Charon tips his head in acknowledgment, and Hermes steps a bit closer.
“Do you have someone spoiling you already?” Hermes asks. “If not, would you like to?”
Trust fund baby Hermes makes wealthy businessman Charon an offer he thinks can't be refused, but Charon isn't so easily impressed.

He's prepared to spend a couple of hours being a silent bodyguard and handy bank balance for sweet treats and hot chocolate. What he's not prepared for, is the gorgeous barista also waiting for them every visit.
