Summary
Cas has always had a close bond with his grandmother, and she has always been his best friend and biggest supporter. He's always known there was something special about her, just not what that something was. It didn't really matter to him though. When he hears a song one night, something so hauntingly beautiful he can't get it out of his head and he sees the most beautiful man he's ever laid eyes on, the last thing he expects is for this stranger to know his grandmother, or for the secrets they are about to reveal. Sometimes, when you think you know someone well, you really know nothing about them at all.

Summary
Cas and Dean are young, in love, but Cas has been dancing around the idea of taking Dean as his mate. He's always wanted to find his true mate. His siblings had, and they were head over heels in love with theirs. His parents were true mates. Heck, even Dean's brother had found his. Dean's parents were true mates, too. But Dean hadn't found his yet, and neither had he. He loves Dean, even if he's afraid to admit it to himself, and after a drunken night of sex in the back of Dean's car, he realizes true mates are not as important as being with the man he is head over heels in love with.
Except the next morning when he's on his way to Dean's house to finally admit his feelings and ask him to be his mate, he meets the one person he's spent a lifetime waiting for...
His true mate.
One wrong decision snowballs into a million more as he makes a series of terrible, horrible, awful decisions. Never one to think ahead, he doesn't realize how many lives he'll be ruining, or just how badly one person's heart can break. Can he fix things before it's too late? Can Dean ever forgive him? Read on to find out. Impulsivity does no one any good. It's a hard lesson to learn. It's the hardest lesson he'll ever learn.
