Galadriel discovers that she is with child after "Halbrand" flees Eregion. She resolves that she will do whatever it takes to protect her child, even if that means that she must accept the Dark Lord's insidious proposal. She will become his Queen after all. She will bind him to the light and allow him to bind her to power. Because he was right about what he shouted at her in the vision: she has no choice. She needs him.
