Summary
The Straw Hats end up chained to pillars (even though it's not Tuesday) while their captain has to find his way through a deadly maze. Truly deadly. The various monsters, traps and lethal devices aren't too much of a problem, but logic puzzles? No way. Time to rally around their captain.

Summary
A long crack clawed up the side of the concrete, and then it exploded. The pieces hung suspended in air around the boy, face still smooth as glass. Below Reigen’s fingers, the monitors beeped and charted in wild patterns, unlike anything he had ever seen before.
Suzuki removed his hand from the intercom and turned to Reigen. “Interesting enough for you?”
(In which Dr. Reigen gets involved in a less than ethical government program involving psychic experiments, and then tries to break one out.)

Summary
“Hold that thought,” says Reigen. “The spirit isn’t the protagonist. The spirit is, no offence intended, the villain. The spirit is the obstacle our hero must overcome before reaching his happy ending.”
“Oh, no,” the spirit says. “No, not at all. I see this story as more of a tragedy. Suffering in life, suffering in death. The futile attempts of one spirit to find happiness, before being snuffed out at the very brink of success. You should emphasise that theme. And I also don’t like the pacing.”
(Trapped on the job with an unfriendly spirit, Reigen decides to buy himself time by telling it his longest, most thrilling, and most factually accurate story yet.)

Summary
“Have you heard from Fenlamin?” Kalina asks insistently, and Riz is so taken aback that he nearly falls over. The surprise stems from his lack of recognition; she asks as if he should know who she’s talking about, but that same nagging itch from this morning about the bay returns, and all he can do is stare at her incredulously.
“Who?”
Finally, he looks up at her and her face…she’s not usually easy to read, but she looks devastated. “No,” she says softly, then louder, “Fenlamin? Your best friend?”
“I…” Riz blinks at her. A car passes through the intersection behind her; he wonders what they see. He wonders if the driver might clutch their pearls at the image of a goblin in this part of town talking to thin air; he wonders if his mom will get a call, and if he’ll always be labeled trouble, and if Kalina being worried is something that will help him or hurt him instead. “I don’t—is that someone I go to school with? My best friends are the Bad Kids—you remember them, right? You tried to kill a majority of them?”
“Fenlamin. Fenlamin Gukgak,” she repeats, more desperate this time. “He lived with you?”
