Summary
Izuku finally raises his head, emerald, watery eyes meeting with that beautiful, cosmic form. The man in the sky stares back, expression as unreadable as ever, but Izuku feels warm beneath his gaze. He lifts his hand, reaching out as if to touch the stars that make up his celestial form, or cling to the swirls of bright blue light that clothe him in wisps of radiance.
If only I had wings like Icarus, he thinks. I would not waste them.

Summary
Time seems to stop, a flicker of realization crossing the man’s narrowing eyes. In the same instant, the voice being muffled in Katsuki’s head begins to calm its thrashing. Something like relief floods through it, all the way into Katsuki, his chest swelling with it. So much so that his hands begin to shake and his knees weaken. He wants to cry out with victory. Turn his face to the sky and scream.
It’s a comfort, in a strange sense, but even more so unsettling.

Summary
Katsuki has learned, through every experience and in every aspect of his life, that duty comes first. Duty to his people, to his kingdom. It sits atop his head as a thin silver circlet; the light weight of the small crown a constant reminder that sometimes feels heavier than a suit of steel armor. It’s good for Katsuki to have that reminder, but it also mocks him. It’s a promise, and a warning. A blessing, and a curse.
Izuku is, too. A blessing, and a curse.
