Eddie blinks at him. In some distant, faraway corner of his mind, Richie’s sure he can hear screaming.
“I mean-” Richie starts, his mouth fully just running away with the thing. “I mean, I could help you. With the-” and now his hands are getting in on the action too, the traitors, gesturing vaguely—obscenely—in the direction of Eddie’s crotch.
Eddie stares at him.
“You- what?”
“I can help you get off,” Richie’s mouth says, slow and clear and a little too loud. “If- if that’s something you’d want.”
(Eddie leaves Derry the second time with another cast on his arm. Richie lends a hand.)

In the bowels of Derry, after a failed ritual, Eddie throws the fence post like a javelin and Richie falls to earth like rain, and Eddie thinks it’s over. He drops on top of Richie and thinks that surely, from that height, he must have smashed his tailbone or broken his back, but he looks at Richie’s face, shocked and searching but unmistakably alive, and he thinks I did it and he thinks run away with me and he thinks oh god I love you.
