Till’s thoughts go out the window when she hears… whimpering?
“Ivan…?”
Damn, she must be really, really, sick. Till frowns, suddenly feelings guilty for being mad at Ivan at all when she was suffering all alone like this. She walks over to the bedroom, gently pushing open Ivan’s door.
Till has her mouth open to say something, but it quickly devolves into a silent choke at what lies before her.

Summary
Contrary to what many campers like to think, he was never always the ‘model student’ or even the kind of kid anyone looked up to.
Rather, he was quiet. Too skinny. He had trouble saying much more than a few words, and when Till tried to share some of the flowers kids from the demeter cabin gave him, Ivan didn’t want it.
There’s also the fact that, aside from being really scrawny and strange, Ivan showed up to camp alone. No family, no note, just himself. There wasn’t even a satyr or camper to guide him there, and when he’d arrived, a few of the demigods thought he wasn’t even human.
The gossip of his arrival fades after a while. Practically nobody today remembers or knows that the kid that arrived at camp all those years ago was the very same Ivan that they hail as the perfect role model.
