They're fine as friends, Haru thinks, but he has a feeling that what Rin has to say is going to be something stupid, something he definitely doesn't want him to say, before he gets on the bus for the airport. Awkward avoidance (and maybe some kissing...) ensue.

I created this pairing challenge for myself, as a way to explore whether or not the boys in Free! are actually as shippable with each other as they say. It's a bit difficult, and I apologize if they aren't written how you're used to. It's an experiment! Not all of the pairings I'm writing are turning out romantic, but I'm nonetheless pleased with the results.
Full disclosure: I ship RinHaru, SouMako, and Reigisa in normal life, and I don't enjoy multi-shipping (thus why this is so hard, haha). I do believe in getting out of my comfort zone to understand the characters better. However, you may see these pairings coloring the way in which I write my challenge entries -- for instance, Haruka substituting someone else for Rin because it's season 1 and Rin is still wounded. I don't necessarily ship the things I'm writing for the challenge, but I'll try my best to do them justice!
I've also read High Speed! 1, and I'm about to start High Speed! 2, so you may see things from the books mentioned, and the definitely influence how I see the characters and their interactions.
