Ріко, що посміхається йому з насолодою, коли залишає на ньому порізи. В очах Ріко відбивається помаранчеве сяйво запальнички, що лиже шкіру Ніла. Ріко сміється, коли голка машинки для татуювання впивається в щоку Ніла.
Ріко, Ріко, Ріко, задуха, з якої неможливо втекти. Паніка пронизує Ніла, коли він марно смикає наручники. Ні, ні, ні —А потім він вимовляє це вголос:
— Ні, ні, ні.Тому що він може говорити, в нього немає кляпа. Тому що Ніл не в Еверморі. Він удома з Ендрю, який буде поруч, коли Ніл розплющить очі — тільки зараз він стоїть на колінах біля ліжка, зовсім не торкаючись його.
Ніл довго вчився читати слабкі відтінки емоцій, які з’являються на обличчі Ендрю. Але ніколи, навіть у ті дні, коли Ендрю був на таблетках під час своїх маніакальних епізодів, Ніл не бачив на його обличчі нічого схожого на нинішній вираз жахливого шоку.

— Дякую, — сказав Ніл, роблячи крок вперед до Ендрю. — Ти був неперевершеним, — прошепотів він, благаючи про прощення своїм поглядом, коли нахилився і поцілував Ендрю на очах у всіх.
Ендрю завмер, його руки зупинилися на півшляху, в межах досяжності Ніла. У свою чергу Ніл поклав свої руки на лікті Ендрю, перебираючи пальцями краї його пов’язок, поки не зміг намацати руків'я двох ножів, що лежали там.
Або Ніл робить інший вибір.

If Andrew was truly being honest, it was more of a test to see if Neil would follow through than it was an act of defiance. The rule was, the only person who could touch Andrew was Neil, and if Andrew specifically engineered a scenario where Neil walked in on him touching himself just to see what Neil would do, that was his business. He wasn't really sure if Neil had it in him to be so demanding, and he certainly wasn't expecting this.
Neil put the chastity cage on him six days ago, and if Andrew plays his cards right, it could come off tonight.
