But then Keith came back.
And the person that had stepped off of that ship might as well have been a stranger. There was no reckless abandon, no challenge in his tone, no small smiles, no little nicknames between them anymore.
Keith was different, and it made him many things, upset, confused, but mostly angry."They were stuck, floating through space yet Lance can only focus on how distant Keith is now. Insults are said and feelings are hurt (but not for too long) as Lance navigates his desperately repressed feelings for Keith in space, in battle, and alone in a control room.

(inspired by a very stupid meme thats been circulating for years)
For Keith, it had been years since violence had been his first thought towards something.But he felt those years of constant work and self improvement leave him as he laid in his bed that morning, his alarm clock reading 8:02 AM as he found himself once again awoken by the inconsiderate idiot that lived above him.
He could do the neighbourly thing and politely request no loud noise in early hours of the morning, but Keith's not exactly the neighbourly type. Instead he settles for a pettier, more 21st century method, changing his Wifi name:
‘APT203ShutTheFuckUp'
To soon be met with, in response:
‘APT???SayItToMyFace#203’.
Chaos ensues.

"Lance honestly doesn’t know how he didn't notice her before, she was stood near the wall, facing away and looking out to the crowd, just as Lance was, her dark hair fell just to her shoulders with a red jacket tied around her waist, her head nodding slightly to the bass of the music that was blaring. He couldn’t make out any more details, other than how the blue lights shone off of her pale skin from a distance. Lance downed his drink, setting the now empty glass on the counter and headed towards her. He’d been needing a distraction from the nagging feeling of Keiths’ presence, he hadn’t even done anything to Lance, not recently anyway, but these parties were an escape for Lance, and knowing Keith was here, the one person who he just couldn’t get along with, it annoyed him. Luckily with how much he had drunk, that feeling was nothing but a dull ache in the back of his mind."
In which lance gets a little too drunk at a party and mistakes Keith for a girl. Embarrassment and dancing ensues.

Summary
Keith knew that avoiding Lance wouldn't be easy, even if he was doing it for a genuine reason. But he can only last so long, can't ignore the pull back to Lance forever, so this is the day that he gives in.
And pretty quickly, he realises no reason in the universe could be enough to keep him away again.
(basically Keith visits Lance after a while, scared he'll be angry at him for taking so long, but Lance is just happy to see him. And then they do cute domestic things because they deserve to be cute and domestic your honour)
