“It’s…” Keiji starts to correct him, then realizes it isn’t worth the effort. There’s no point dragging out a conversation with someone he knows he’s never going to see again. He gives the patron a small nod and says, “It’s fine. I’m just doing the job they pay me to do.”
“And now I know who to ask for the next time I come in!” The patron grins at him, hands resting proudly on his hips, and Keiji takes another half-step back. “Bokuto Koutarou, by the way.”
“Okay.”

The idea that comes to him is so astronomically ridiculous that Keiji almost stops himself from saying it aloud, but he needs to keep Koutarou on task. And besides, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t also in the mood to be fucked by the love of his life. This feels like a compromise.

“Fine,” he says, and sighs a little for effect. “This is what we’ll do: give me your flashcards and I’ll quiz you. For every question you get right, you get to pick one piece of clothing for one of us to remove. If you get a question wrong, we put the last thing we removed back on. We go until the stack runs out.”

Satoru raises his arms above his head and stretches out the same way a cat that has done nothing all day might. “We could,” he says with a shrug. “Or, we could keep avoiding our responsibilities with an All or Nothing? The loser has to buy the winner whatever he wants from FamilyMart.”
Suguru pretends to consider this a moment, as if his answer would ever be anything other than yes. He taps his chin once, then points a finger at Satoru and says, “Only if I get to pick the game.”

Summary
The stranger starts to walk around him then, back towards the dancing and the music and to someone who is most definitely not Ilya. Ilya knows he should let him go, but the thrumming underneath his skin has yet to subside, and his senses are heightened by the alcohol beginning to settle in his stomach and the unchanging fact that he needs to get laid.
It’s the sum of his poor decisions that causes him to put a hand out in front of the stranger to stop him from leaving and say, “I know you. You’re the one who does the commercials, yes? Without your clothes?”
This time, it’s the stranger who says, “What?”

He hears movement on the other end. Footsteps. A door being pushed open. Then, it’s Bokuto’s heavy breathing loud in Keiji’s ear as he starts fast-walking across whatever part of campus he’s on. He sounds all-too excited telling him, “Stay where you are. Right where you are. Don’t move.”
Keiji reaches underneath his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose. “Bokuto-san…” he says with whatever remains of his composure. “You don’t own a car.”
Bokuto and Akaashi, forty-eight hours until exam week begins.

“Please,” Suguru exhales in amusement, as bitter as the frost embroidered onto the windowsill outside. “You’re so much worse than me, Satoru,” he says, but he’s moving forward and seizing the desperation on Satoru’s lips. “You can’t fix shit.”
