Summary
Wei Ying knows enough about dating to know that the regular stuff isn’t good enough for Lan Zhan. No movie theaters (too loud, too peoply) or crappy restaurants (any restaurant worthy of Lan Zhan was also one that Wei Ying couldn’t afford). Getting coffee was out because they do that already. Not special enough! Knowing that the stakes were high and the rewards worth the effort, Wei Ying had the perfect Lan Zhan date all set to go before he asked Lan Zhan out. Wei Ying is capable of focusing when it matters. Take that, every teacher he’s ever had!
College student Wei Ying has somehow managed to convince Lan Zhan, the love of his life, to date him. Although the first date went perfectly, now Wei Ying has to keep the magic going. And unfortunately, their second date has to be at the university's Fall Festival. It'll be tricky, but somehow, Wei Ying is going to make this date even more perfect than the first!

Summary
Wei Ying peers up at him through dark eyelashes. Huddled in his oversized hoodie, he looks rather like a lost puppy. A nasty bloodsucking puppy, Lan Zhan reminds himself.
“I need help,” Wei Ying says. “I need somebody to explain all this shit to me because all I’ve got to go on are a bunch of B-movies. So you, Van Helsing, are the best option I’ve got.”
Protecting the city from supernatural menaces is a burden, but field agent Lan Zhan has always borne that burden without complaint. Then one night, he meets Wei Ying, a vampire in need of rescue. A very pretty, very pathetic vampire. Lan Zhan will mentor this ridiculous vampire, but he is absolutely going to complain about it.

Wei Ying loves hookups. He especially loves hooking up with gorgeous people who are a little mean. But there’s a difference between a little mean and whatever Lan Zhan has going on. Which is why Wei Ying has the most confused boner of his life.
But it’s not like he’s afraid of Lan Zhan. He should just text the hot guy who’s obviously hot for him, let the hot guy fuck his brains out, and then forget about the hot guy completely. That’s what hot people are for.
It's so rude when the creep at the coffee shop turns out to be really good at sex and then also wants to date you. Who expected that? Not Wei Ying, that's for sure!

Wei Wuxian didn’t imagine acquiring a cat like this, nor did he imagine acquiring a fluffy white cat that, even covered in dirt and debris and clutched to a four-year-old’s chest like a teddy bear, manages to give the impression it’s judged his entire life and found it deeply wanting.
“Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?”
“A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains.
Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.

And he had seen a man who could convey love, and longing, and loyalty, with nothing more than a single look. Had seen beauty, yes, but also kindness and charm and a smile that could break hearts. Had seen a man no one could refuse to reach out to, if he reached first.
Wei Ying had reached out, and Lan Zhan hadn’t been able to refuse.

“You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back."
“Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.
The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.
