Summary
Gi-hun fails to kidnap the Frontman. But In-ho, well, he never fails.
Unexpectedly, the Frontman’s grip softens as he tilts Gi-hun’s chin up slightly and exposes his throat. “You look like a butterfly.” The man whispers chillingly, a breathy edge to the statement. “Its wings pinned. Its beauty preserved.”
The unanticipated compliment is haunting, unsettling, and Gi-hun thinks it doesn’t sound like a compliment at all.

"It wasn't about jumping. It was about the ability to jump. The choice.[...] Something to remind him there was a way out."
Seong Gi-hun, a depressed but compassionate mechanic, meets Hwang In-ho on top of the bridge. Neither of them are there to jump, but they are both there. Their experiences with grief and humanity are different, but being seen and understood is too miraculous and too rare for either of them to pass up.
