Gerard is standing in the middle of the room, hip cocked to the side and one hand on it. He is wearing his pajamas, stupid tiny shorts with a long sleeve, summer on the bottom and winter on the top. His white hair is still a little wet from the shower, some drops of water sliding down his neck and dampening the collar of his shirt.
He isn't smiling, and his eyes look huge with the way the shadows are cast from the harsh overhead light. Ray watches as he lifts up one finger, curling it in the air and beckoning Ray over.

Then the water cooler ladies will have a field day with her, though, so she reluctantly changes her mind and shovels them into her tote, on top of the boots. Why does she carry them if they're so heavy? She should just leave her pumps at her desk. God damn it.
She thinks, Fuck ‘em, and puts the glasses back on.
She can see the top of Howard's head on the move. Hurriedly, she all but sprints to safety. Having too much to juggle really makes it harder for her to blend in when she’s a few minutes late like this. Fuck Mikey and Frank for living so much closer to this place than she does.
Sorry, Mikey and Frank, she thinks, since they’re really the only saving grace here.
