He didn't know the woods, had nothing to defend himself with, he felt like a terrified rabbit as he ran through the dark woods. The full moon provided just enough illumination that he wasn't blind, but it barely filtered through the dense foliage of the trees.
Branches slapped his face and pulled his hair and roots and rocks threatened to trip him. Finally, one wrong step had his foot catching and sent him flying.
Regulus hit the forest floor. His hands caught his fall, he was uninjured, but it didn't matter.
