Summary
Sequel to the canon-divergent and early-Zuko-join fic "Catalyst," "Catastrophe" starts at the beginning of book 3 and follows the Gaang through to Day of Black Sun. Zuko continues to wrestle with his feelings toward the Fire Nation, his family, his friends, Katara, and the war as the time for the invasion arrives, and what it means to finally be “good.” Along the way, Team Avatar comes across friends and enemies, mentors and masters, and not all will escape unscathed.
This story hopes to explore themes introduced previously in both "Catalyst" and canon, as well as some darker material relative to the show. If you are okay with the maturity and violence in "Catalyst," you should be fine here as well.
Chapters will be released weekly with few exceptions, if any. Feedback, both positive and negative, is welcome via PM or public comment. Enjoy.

Following the success of “Interview with Our Fire Lord,” Urakik Bak received an invitation by Prince and Princess Sokka and Katara to the Southern Water Tribe embassy in the heart of the Caldera. At Urakik Bak’s request, the siblings were interviewed separately. This article features Prince Sokka’s interview and will be followed by Princess Katara’s interview in a separate article.

Summary
Zuko is captured by the Dai Li in Ba Sing Se. While held in the darkest part of the Crystal Catacombs and certain all is lost, unexpected visitors arrive. Uneasy alliances are made and the motivations behind them are quickly tested. Zuko must fight to survive and heal, facing uncomfortable truths and lies, answering the big questions, and finally fighting his greatest enemy yet.
