He knows Hermione misses it, too, because in the dark hours of the night they find each other in the common room and whisper to each other about everything that’s happening. He keeps getting in fights with people who talk shit about Harry. It’s almost addicting, at this point. Eventually, Hermione begs him to knock it off, and he does. Mostly.

Ron makes a mistake in the floo network, finding himself in the English countryside without his wand. Unexpectedly, the distance from his family becomes a much need retreat giving him time think about his relationships, anxieties of the coming year, and sexuality.
"He was truly muscular, he reminded him of the same build as Viktor Krum. Ron flushed looking away from Dev’s back. “Aunty” Dev greeted the woman at the bar.
The woman turned and Ron got a better look at her. She tall and thin with a bob of silver and purple hair. She had a natural sort of smirk to her face."
