Summary
Set in a modern, militarizing New Orleans, the story follows students, artists, service workers, and strays as they orbit one another—through organizing meetings and art collectives, addiction and recovery, protest and police lines. Some of them believe in the law. Some believe in nothing at all. All of them are trying to stay alive long enough to matter.
A realistic look at political organizing with themes of anti-colonialism, found family, queerness, and addiction / recovery

Summary
“Here, in my…” Enjolras pauses. No, something can’t be right. Something doesn’t add up. “In my chest.”
The man just keeps staring at him, like he’s expecting something to happen. Nothing does.
“How am I alive? I should have died, I can’t… I can’t be alive.” Enjolras takes a shaky breath and narrows his eyes. “Who are you?”
-
In which a protest goes terribly wrong, Grantaire isn't quite what he seems, and Enjolras is the key to a war he doesn't even know about.

Summary
There are plenty of rooms on the ship that have windows, but they've always been given to Security, and to those whom Security values or desires something from. Still, they can't keep the stars entirely to themselves. There are cleaning crews and service technicians who must be allowed in to do their jobs, and word spreads through them, in brief whispers exchanged in the corridors, in notes and hearsay and rumor.
There's a planet outside, an actual planet.

Summary
Grantaire's family is the largest collection of idiots he's ever seen exist in one place without succumbing to death by natural selection. They're ridiculous, chaotic, sad, furious, utterly codependent, and, er, they have wings. They're also imprisoned in a secret government facility that experiments on them for unknown (but Grantaire's gonna go ahead and say sinister) reasons. The revolution will not be civilised.

Summary
Grantaire’s life goes to hell at 5pm on a Saturday evening.
Which is actually kind of ironic, really, seeing as how the rest of the world went to hell almost seven years earlier.
