Summary
The envoy, crisp and meticulous, confirmed Naruto’s summit accommodations and itinerary, reminding him that as Hokage, he now is the state. Bringing Sasuke, he warned, might breach precedent—but would also project strength. Naruto didn’t answer right away.
Then Naruto walked to the table, sat beside Sasuke, and said quietly, “Are you coming with me?”
Sasuke didn’t look up. “Do you want me to come?”
The envoy was already turning to speak again, but Naruto raised a hand without breaking eye contact.
“I do,” he said. Simple. Clear.
Sasuke let the corner of his mouth twitch. “Then I’ll come.”
The envoy scribbled a note. “We’ll revise the manifest.”
(Sasuke attends the Five Kage Summit, but uses the front door this time.)

Summary
This series is based on the book series called His Dark Materials. In these books, each human's soul exists outside of their body and are called 'dæmons'. Dæmons can shapeshift into any animal form as children until their human reaches puberty. At some point during puberty, dæmons choose a forever animal shape to 'Settle' as. Their permanent animal shape is representative of their human.
It’s taboo to touch another person’s dæmon since it’s their soul. If someone does touch another’s dæmon it’s usually a) a form of abuse, or b) a show of trust and love. How the touching feels is dependent on the person doing the touching and their intentions.
