Summary
Ed had shown up at the nursing home about a week ago. Ever since Pete had dropped Ed off to Lucius’s activity group, rolling him up to Stede’s table, the two have been inseparable. Stede had immediately started holding Ed’s hand, moving his bingo chips “Here darling, you missed one.” From then on, they ate every meal together, and spent their time sitting together in the combination cafeteria/activities room, Stede with an arm wrapped around Ed’s, Ed thriving on the attention.
Ed wins a ring in bingo and gives it to Stede. Stede gets a terrible rash and won't let anyone take the ring off.

Stede's gift for his 10th birthday was sitting in an examination room. At the time, it truly did feel like a special gift. He'd get to be classified before all of his peers! He couldn’t exactly have a party. Even in a world where his father would allow it, he’d have no one to invite. He wasn’t going to be ungrateful, his father had at least gotten him something this year.
Stede is freshly 40 when he opens his very own regression daycare. With his father gone, he has more money than he could ever spend, and puts it to use the best way he knows how. He spends years cultivating the perfect place for anyone to feel welcome.
Stede is content with his classification, or so he tells himself. He has to be, because classifications are almost never wrong. The percentage is tiny, so unlikely that there’s no way his could be wrong, especially when the classification clinic he went to was so revered! And getting reclassified at his age is nearly unheard of, anyway.
