Summary
Once Riz gets past the initial shock and terror at things changing, there’s a part of him that’s just want. That selfish, greedy part of him that he’s had to learn how to quiet, to stop focusing on the things he’s scared he’ll lose or that he’ll never have when he’s so spoiled with the things he does have now, it hears all the quiet promises in Fabian’s words and wants to clutch it all tight, no takebacksies. He wants to be wanted. He wants to bask in however Fabian wants to express his love the same way that he’s always loved it when Fabian expresses his love. He wants to not be scared of the thought of it. He wants to want it. He might want it? He wants to know if he does want it.
(Or, discovering your best friend of over a decade is in love with you might bring some confusion, some complications, and plenty of recontextualizing, but it might also bring so much happiness.)

Summary
It starts with the death of King Itham of Fallinel. Riz's abduction by the Court of Stars would've been a non-starter if it hadn't been revealed that he was the last of the king's line after his father's sisters refused the throne. Someone should've warned the Court of Stars the consequences of taking one of their own. It's a no holds barred rescue mission and if the Bad Kids have to dismantle the Court of Stars, so be it.
But it won't end there. The Shadow Cat is manipulating events from the shadows and it's up to the Bad Kids to find out what's rotten in the material plane, no matter the cost. -

Summary
Fabian has a dream about Mazey.
He dreams about going on night rides on the Hangman, with Mazey clinging to his back, or going to Basrar’s and laughing in a corner booth with their friends. He imagines what it would be like to have someone in the bleachers at his Owlbear games, someone to catch in an embrace afterwards and kiss while the adrenaline still runs hot under his skin. Someone who picks up their crystal on the first ring, who he can spoil and protect, a partner to confide in and fight alongside.
He dreams about bringing coffee to her as she stays up late reworking the yarn on her detective board…
