“Join Jisung and I tonight,” Seungmin murmurs, in an uncharacteristically soft tone, as if he were cradling Minho close to his chest as he does Felix or Jisung, speaking to him as if he were someone precious and not just the king’s burden to bear. It hurts when Minho knows it’s just his imagination. “We can talk more then.”
“Are you sure?” Minho asks, clenching his fist behind his back tight enough to feel his nails dig into his palm.
Seungmin clenches and unclenches his fists at his sides. “Why wouldn't I be?”
I am your cross to bear. I am a nail in your coffin. I am the thorn in your side. I am. I am. I am.
“Nevermind,” Minho shakes his head and turns to Seungmin, bowing once more. He thinks his nails have broken skin. “See you tonight, then.”

Yeosang knows better than to get close to other witches. He's content with the life he's built for himself, with his small cottage tucked away in the forest, on the outskirts of a human village. He doesn't need a coven. He doesn't want to - he can't - risk rejection again. Can't risk being chased out of town with only the clothes on his back because his magic was too different, too dangerous. His heart is better kept to himself. It's far better to be lonely and safe than surrounded by witches who hate and fear him.
Then, on the night of the full moon, he meets the Aurora Coven.

Namjoon has come by the bakery more than a few times over the few weeks since they first met, with the flimsy excuse that their frankly very basic coffee is good enough to walk five minutes off of his usual path, but mostly to lean over the counter during slow hours and talk to whoever’s around before he has to either leave for work, pick his son up from school, or head home to start dinner. To flirt, really—he’s about as subtle as a summer storm with it, but Yoongi doesn’t mind it.
Isn’t sure which of them he’s flirting with sometimes, or both, but likes it just the same.
