Summary
“Right, well I’d say it’s about time to put an end to this nonsense, wouldn’t you?” James nodded sagely. “You’ve obviously still got some things to chat through with him, but he will talk to you about it, Remus. He thinks the world of you, you know that. But the important thing is that you do talk because nothing’s going to get sorted if you just sit cry-wanking in your room.”
The world is excruciating and enthralling in equal measure. The gang try their hardest to navigate it as real, legitimate adults.

Summary
What if love was always there, tucked between the lines, waiting in the words left behind?
Sometimes, the only way to say what matters is on parchment. Sometimes, the only way to be brave is to write it down, not speak it out loud. Sometimes, love is a letter you never send. Sometimes, the words that mean the most are the hardest to read. Sometimes, it takes a lifetime's worth of letters to finally find your way back home.
And sometimes, maybe, that's enough.
An epistolary story tracing the lives of Sirius and Remus through decades of Christmas letters across friendship, first dates, war, betrayal, exile, painful truths and finally, the long way home. 1971-2000 (and beyond).

"They wouldn't be looking for him. And if they did, they wouldn't find him, not until death did."
Or: A different perspective of Christmas 1980.

Summary
At first it was a single unextraordinary piece of parchment. Flat, yellow, and folded in half so it could hide easily under a book cover or tucked inside a pocket. And there were three other ones, all identical in size and shape with the same title written carefully across the top in Sirius buggering Black’s aristocratic script: Mr Moony’s Pain Parchment.
------
Or: Every other sentence out of Remus Lupin’s mouth is “I’m fine” and it’s pissing everyone off.
