Summary
"What I was thinking of earlier—to help you unwind. And... a way to put that mouth to better use." She pulls Caitlyn forward, and brings one of Caitlyn’s hands to her crotch to press her palm against the thick fabric of her sweatpants.
Caitlyn inhales sharply at the feeling of something large and hard underneath the fabric. Almost instantly, she understands what Vi's getting at. "O… oh. Um. I…"
"Would you like that?" Vi asks, her voice lower, almost husky. She has to be doing that on purpose—the sly fucker.
Caitlyn is stressed out of her mind about law school and studying nonstop. But Vi knows a foolproof way to help her relax a bit.

Summary
“The physician came in earlier,” Odysseus explained, helping her up slightly enough just so she could swallow, tipping the contents into her mouth. “He said you had a mild fever.”
Fever. Penelope resisted the urge to groan.
She had not fallen ill — well, physically ill — when her husband was away, yet now only a few weeks after his return she falls victim to a fever. A part of her wished to find amusement in the irony of it.
(Penelope falls ill. Penelope has fever dreams. They are not pleasant — hardly anything is pleasant when it comes to fevers, really. At the very least, Odysseus is there).

Summary
Again and again, even though we know love’s landscape
and the little churchyard with its lamenting names
and the terrible reticent gorge in which the others
end: again and again the two of us walk out together
under the ancient trees, lay ourselves down again and again
among the flowers, and look up into the sky.- Rainer Maria Rilke.

Summary
An animal will tend to notice just before you shoot it.
Odysseus draws the arrow back. The bow fits in his hands like an extra bit of his body. He is as attuned to the fine hum of its string in the way anyone comes to learn the thrum of their own nerves. Palintonos is the word for what his bow is. An instrument that stretches backwards.
/
Every step away from a prophecy is a step toward it, like walking on a backward map. Odysseus tries to get out of going to war.
