Summary
Over the seventeen years of her life, Hollis Potter had learned that there are certain undeniable truths to existence, although their consequences may vary. The first: people are not inherently kind. Truth number two: Appearances are everything. Truth number 3: Weaknesses are a death sentence. These truths made Hollis a wise child, one who usually saw what others could not. But a child is still only a child, and one who has been deprived of care, affection, and happiness for nearly the entirety of their life will always be more vulnerable to those who wish to prey on them. So while in another life, these lessons would have been enough to spare Hollis' worlds of heartache, in this one, pretty words and displays of magic distracted her until it was too late.

Hollis Potter gets betrayed in classic "Dumbledore manipulated every facet of her life and the Weasleys and Hermione were in on it" fashion and it lands her a trip through worlds where she ends up in none other than our beloved MCU. A rewrite of an old fic I never finished.

Ilya’s hand wraps around his bare wrist and squeezes. Shane barely stops himself from collapsing to his knees.
The pressure lights up every receptor of his touch-starved nervous system, wrenching a small, pained noise from the back of his throat. Every muted sensation comes flooding back so intensely that it almost hurts. He needs Ilya to hold him down until there’s nothing inside him but quiet. He wants to sink into him and disappear.
It takes Shane an entire beat to remember where they are. Fighting against the fog in his mind, he manages to drag his gaze up to meet Ilya’s.
There’s a slow-dawning horror and understanding on Ilya’s face.
