Summary
In another universe, eighteen-year old Andy washed up in London without money, friends, or options. One thing led to another and four years later he's scraping along in his career. Some days, he can almost convince himself that being a prostitute isn't all that bad.
Today was not one of those days. At least, not until he bumped into a good-looking Serbian guy on the Tube.
(Or, the one where Andy ended up a prostitute instead of a tennis player through a series of accidents and bad decisions, and Novak's mostly trying not to screw up his life.)

Summary
He’s rotting from the inside out.
That’s what it feels like. He prays for the clean decay of autumn leaves, beautiful and purposeful. He receives the rot of fruit left too long in the sun, of meat gone bad, of something organic turning wrong.
The fear that he’s a bad boyfriend by being this broken thing, collection of malfunctioning systems held together by athletic tape and stubbornness and the increasingly disgustingly desperate need to keep performing, keep winning.
He’s breaking well into his twenties and ranked number two in the world and his body is giving up on him.
Or maybe he’s giving up on his body.

Summary
Not even in a parallel world where Jannik might have grown up as a five-foot-seven Minnesota beauty-pageant princess with sequined sash and a tiara would he ever spend £28,000 on a weekend of strategic shopping and sixty bottles of pink champagne.
They once blamed the England WAGs for an entire World Cup meltdown; Jannik refused to be drafted into that level of delusion. No chance.

Summary
It’s strange, Carlos thinks, resetting for the next serve. He’s the fast one — horizontal acceleration that leaves the Internet sputtering, the one who tears across the court like he’s got rockets attached to his feet, who loves the thrill and the sprint and the speed of it all. But clay courts are slow. His drop shots are slow.
And Jannik, who moves through the world like he holds all the time in it — Jannik’s game is rapid; playing him is like playing twice as fast. Those baseline shots are violence disguised as pleasantries.
Carlos is so stupidly giddy about his little mental dichotomies that he fails to return the first serve. 15-love.
