Chap6 notes: 1 word for this chapter is poignant! Actually, reflecting on the feelings thru the chapter is a little like whiplash. All 6 of them take a roadtrip to a gorgeous cove & then an open market characterized by absolute chaos, w/ colors, noises & smells. During this whole time Ava & Beatrice continue to be inexplicably attracted to each other, more & more.
The afternoon brings the usual rainstorm & the beach bonfire is canceled for gamnight @ Beatrice’s. All of the gang is impressed w/ expanded bungalow & dipping pool, looking out @ the beach,which can barely be seen, bc of the weather. Games begin, innocently enough, until a card game of 2 truths & a lie. Ava draws a card that says “family”. She a 1st gives an answer that she was raised by wolves. Knowing that the gang is not going to settle for such an answer, she finally divulges, that @ age 7, both her parents were killed in an MVA.
