Summary
Two weeks of boredom for the Enterprise crew are suddenly alleviated by a mysterious distress call—disturbing and utterly alien in nature. Following it to its source, they find an unfamiliar space station, almost entirely deserted except for a select number of life-signs.
Making the decision to board and investigate, Jim and his chosen away team find the ruins of a long-dead alien science colony and an angry crew of space pirates—but there’s far more going on here than meets the eye.
