Summary
"It's youu!" The ragdoll wobbles to her unsteady feet with the help of a floating hand, leaning heavily into his space and laughing again. "I miss youuuu."
Kinger huffs. "Well, uh. That's odd of you to say. I'm right here."
I wondered how stupid sauced Ragatha and Kinger could've interacted, then this was born.

Summary
Ragatha and Kinger have known each other for a long time. They've survived the circus together for a long time. It's been just the two of them for a long time.
Ragatha remembers all of it. Kinger does not.
Or:
The slow, sinking realization that one friendship predates almost everything else in the circus.

Summary
Maomao took a sip of her kuding tea to cut the greasy aftertaste. It didn’t do the job, so she craned over and tried again with some caramel latte.
“Maomao!” Xiaolan gasped, affronted.
Her reaction was undercut by the takoyaki ball bulging in her left cheek. Bonito flakes stuck to her upper lip.
A hand reached between Maomao and Xiaolan to pluck the flakes off, then deftly pop them into the owner’s mouth.
“Shisui!” Xiaolan gasped, even more affronted.

Summary
Maomao turned toward her, deliberate and teasing. "You think I look pretty like this?"
Shisui’s breath caught audibly. Her hands flinched like she meant to fold them, then forgot how as they fell to her sides. "Maomao, I think you’re gorgeous."
The words came out too fast, too earnestly. Like she'd been holding them in her throat for hours, maybe days.Maomao blinked. Then grimaced.
She leaned back slightly, head tilting in disbelief. “Don’t say that.”Shisui’s face fell, mouth parting. “Why not?”
The girl in question gestured at herself vaguely—down at her flat chest, her wrapped limbs hiding the horrors any normal girl would shy away from, her sun-darkened skin. “You see me. Can't you?”
Or, my heart is broken so welcome to another scene between my two favorite girls in this cursed work of art

Summary
“He’s not a real person, isn’t he? The master of the White Palace. He only made himself *look* like one to fool those weakling city bugs. He’s really a *thing*, right? Like the one we all ran away from.”
"He is your father."
