    Summary

Inspired by the ‘time travel revenge’ manwha trope, this story begins several years after the Dance. The former queen, Alicent, sits in confinement and full of regret, waiting for death. That is until she’s given a chance to go back in time to the year she married King Viserys and do it all over. With every intention of changing her fate, she might well be doomed to repeat the same mistakes as she is impeded at every turn by a familiar face who has received their own second chance.

    Summary

The old septa died in Bitterbridge, in a dark, shuttered room. She had been ailing when they reached the town, plagued by a sharp, nagging cough Dunk did not like the sound of, likely brought on by several days of rainy travel. They had been headed northeast, towards King’s Landing, for the landed knight they had served for the past three years had little need of septas after his daughters came of age to wed.

Well, Dunk had been more maidservant than septa, it was true, and mayhaps she had never really said the right vows, but it hardly mattered, did it? She wore grey robes, for white showed stains too readily, and carefully veiled her hair, which she kept cropped to her chin to make it easier to tend to. Septa Arla always said a maid of her size would always stand out and attract trouble, so she ought to let the Seven be her shield.

    “CHORUS: Brave girl.
KASSANDRA: People never say that to a lucky person, do they?” — Agamemnon, by Aeschylus (trans. Anne Carson)

It had seemed like the bells had tolled funeral marches without end. First had been Prince Rhaegel, the King’s sickly middle son, and then his second-born, Prince Aerys. Then most shocking of all, Prince Matarys. He had only been four-and-ten, a hale and healthy princeling. With his brother Prince Valarr dead on Ashford Meadow, the primary line of succession was wiped out in a single stroke. Fools on the street began saying that House Targaryen was cursed, that the price for their incest and fornication and tyranny was finally coming due.

(In the aftermath of the tourney at Ashford Meadow, House Targaryen reels.)

    Summary

Two horse girls commit $9.7 million in securities fraud on September 11th, 2001.

One makes millions. One loses everything. Both evade taxes across six countries.

An 84-year-old lawyer with dementia provides plausible deniability. The SEC finds no wrongdoing. Half the profits go to charity.

    This is a comedy.

(It shouldn't be, but it is.)

This definitely isn't based off actual real world information that would make this theoretically possible.

    "You don't believe me?
No matter. What is coming will come.
And you will have to watch it.
Then you will pity me." — Agamemnon, by Aeschylus, translated by Ted Hughes

The first time she had tasted wine, she thought she would have been about five or six. Her grandfather King Daeron had hosted a great feast to celebrate the royalist victory on the Redgrass Field and the death and defeat of the Pretender, Daemon Blackfyre. Dany remembered only impressions of the night – a hundred thousand candles burning, the rustle of silk on silk, the clamour of shouting and singing hammering her ears.
