The thing about Pino is that, fundamentally, she is a bird.
Sure, she reflects Rody’s emotions, but in the way a bird would. When he’s excited or flustered, she flits around wildly. When he’s sad, she chirps dejectedly. Sometimes, it’s nice, because unless someone has known Rody for a long time or is knowledgeable of bird behavior, it can make it a bit less easy for people to read him.
This is not one of those times.
