Summary
It came seventeen years ago—and to this day
It has shown no intention of going away. The world is full of far more horrific things that go bump (or crunch) in the night than humans will probably ever realize. If a few residents of a single house cannot manage to do anything other than provoke such forces, surely that need be no one's concern but their own. However, in a remarkable stroke of good fortune, one short, furry being—with a partiality for white tennis shoes—decides to take upon itself the onus of looking after a certain hapless family.
Or, for every inconvenience the Doubtful Guest causes the household, it saves them from something far worse.

Bookmarker's Notes
Late Gondolin fic (though pre-fall), and a great look into how a number of characters are handling the tensions in the city following Maeglin's return from Angband. Also some fascinating flashback to Voronwë's time at sea, and an elaborate and exquisite garden. I love gardens.
Also also, I am now an Elemmakil/Voronwë shipper.

Summary
This series includes all the stories I have ever written about my versions of Ecthelion and Glorfindel, in mostly chronological order, except for the final story, which contains various extras.
(The stories all share the same canon--until Glorfindel's rebirth. Then there are two different versions of how they reunite, each with its own sequence of fics.)If you're here for the first time, I suggest starting with Flawed and Fair, the first fic I wrote about these two, and still the most popular.

Bookmarker's Notes
Where do I even start? I love tehta's writing to death: it's hilarious and intensely well put-together. I first read this series when my only acquaintance with the Silmarillion was over ten years old, but my partner was getting (back) into it, 'And, btw, Glorfindel and Ecthelion are great!' Say who? Theban Band was accessible and enjoyable then, and got better and better on subsequent re-readings as I did reacquaint myself with the Silm, and was able to recognize more of the references that tehta draws in.
Also: these fics are at least 50% of why Ecthelion is my favorite of the Gondolindrim and 90% of why I finally started reading Tolkien fic.

Summary
Running Yavanna’s errands in First Age Middle-earth is a tough job, but someone has to do it.
(Written for the B2MeM prompt, “Write or create art in which a character plants something.” Not a light-hearted humour fic. At all. A little quirky, though.)
