“Obviously.” What a stupid question, he thought. Of course he wanted tea. He always had tea in the mornings unless there was a particularly interesting case, a seven or higher. John knew how he took his tea by heart, he was sure, considering the amount of times that the blond had made him a nice Earl Grey.
Expecting John not to answer and just brew him the casual beverage, he grabbed a book off the side table next to him, and began to flip through lazily. But what the blond said made him drop the book straight onto his lap and off the chair in pure and utter shock;
Or, in which Sherlock is clueless, John knows *exactly* what he's doing, and tea always helps.

Something is happening with Jamie. Roy has noticed. It's obvious, he's dating someone new. He's changed his hair, started painting his nails, and he keeps using words with more than three syllables. Not always correctly, mind you, but he's clearly making an effort for someone.
Roy is determined to find out what's going on - in a professional capacity, of course. It's his job to check in on his players, even if that means sticking his nose into Tartt's love life.
Roy is going to find out what's happening with Jamie Tartt, even if no one else is willing to help.

Roy reluctantly watches the entire season of Lust Conquers All.
Despite that, he doesn't really figure out how to deal with Jamie Tartt until months later.

“You could be my business.” Roy ignored the jolt of how right those words felt. Ignored Jamie’s own stunned, gaping expression. He raised a hand and cupped Jamie’s jaw, kissed him with all the barely contained, pent up everything he had been feeling about Jamie Tartt since he’d swaggered his way into the locker room at Nelson Road. It wasn't necessarily a nice kiss, but it was a pretty fucking great kiss, in Roy's estimation.
