Alastor Laurent is but a simple man; give him a hug and a ham sandwich, and he’s all set for the day. Needless to say, for him, landing an internship at a radio station was a dream come true. Now, nothing could stand in the way of his aspirations — not even his supervisor, the great and esteemed Alastor Carlon, turning out to be a major ass.
Or is he one really? Perhaps the devil isn’t as black as he is painted, and can appreciate a person wholeheartedly committed to their job. Maybe deciding the recent string of murders terrorizing New Orleans was the scoop Laurent would follow to prove to the host that he is more than a boy with the charisma of worn-out shoelaces would be a good idea… if only such wasn’t an actual hindrance to Carlon’s deadly endeavors.

This fic was so long, and yet still not long enough, as it usually is with great ones. Now I will sit here rethinking my life and not knowing how to continue and go on. God, it was so good – I wouldn't call it angsty, but it was definitely heavy in places. It was realistic. It was well-planned. It was... definitely a fandom classic and for a very, very good reason.
