    Set right before graduation, Midoriya is forced to address some interpersonal discrepancies after some strange behaviour at a barbeque leaves him floundering. He’ll have to face more than just exam prep and Kirishima’s questionable sausages as far too many fairy-tale allusions reduce his happy little home to cinders.

    “God no,” Katsuki snorts. “More like the love of my life.” he says plainly, with not an ounce of embarrassment. He’s spent too many days without him to feel any kind of awkwardness about the bottomless well of feelings he had for that goddamn nerd. He hates him a little now, for filling that pit with more grief than sweetness these days though.

    “Oh,” Makoto’s smile turns shy, blush high on his cheeks and ears.

    Hah. Kid.

    “I never got to have a boyfriend,” he then says, sounding very sour. He kicks a stray stick. “Fucking zombies.”

    “Ah, you never tried dating one? I hear they kiss like they wanna eat you.”

    The done look Makoto gives him almost tickles a laugh out of him.

    “Sorry,” Katsuki amends, patting him on the shoulder, “Fucking zombies.”

    “It is,” Deku agrees, voice muffled from its snug position under Katsuki’s chin. Fingers tighten around the cotton on Katsuki’s back.

    “We’re not like that at all.”

    (In which Class 2-A becomes the long-suffering, unwilling witness to Bakugou Katsuki and Midoriya Izuku’s not-relationship.

    Katsuki doesn’t get it.)

    “What I would give to smush my face into the flawless, marbled expanse of Dynamight’s pectorals while he screams ‘die’ at me. Drooling face emoji, sweat emoji, hot face emoji. I will happily suffocate on those Dynatiddies for the rest of my life.”

    Forget being a Hero— this is going to be his villain origin story, and his first act of violence is strangling IcyHot for throwing that abomination of a statement out into the world.

    (Or: A PR project allows Katsuki to discover Certain Feelings towards a particularly useless shitnerd, in the worst, most dehydrated way imaginable.)
