Summary
Five years ago they parted. Tonight, they meet again.
Elizabeth is Mrs. Montleigh. Darcy is married. The world has moved on—at least it ought to have.
But one evening is enough to remind them how fragile the future can be when the past refuses to stay buried.(This work explores morally questionable themes. If that’s not your cup of tea, please don’t click. No agenda here—just me indulging my darker narrative impulses.)

Summary
"Welcome home," she said, and heard the brittleness in her own voice, the mockery of the sentiment.
"This has not been home for some time, madam. For either of us."
Then he was gone, and Elizabeth was left in her carefully claimed sitting room, staring at a book she could not read, wondering how they had arrived at this--two people bound together by law and circumstance, which neither could escape, circling each other like wounded animals in a house too small for their shared misery.

Trapped in an unhappy marriage, Elizabeth learns how to love her husband.

Summary
He looked out toward the sea. "I thought it better not to intrude by presuming your notice after--" he faltered, then said with effort, "after all that has passed between us. I believed it would be unwelcome."
"Is it your habit," she asked with the faintest smile, "to determine a lady's preferences without consultation?"
This was not the right thing to say, bringing up those things they would both rather forget. His expression shifted--perhaps embarrassment, perhaps frustration. "I did not mean to offend."
"No?" She arched an eyebrow. "Then you do it quite by accident, sir."
***
The summer after Mr. Darcy's disasturous proposal, Elizabeth encounters him at the seaside instead of at his home after her travel plans change unexpectedly. There, she discovers the pleasures of both the seaside and the man she unexpectedly shares it with.

Summary
Regency England is a delightful place to fall in love, but it is even better when magic is just around the corner.
Elizabeth Bennet is a bright naturalist with a particular interest in making a study of spiders. She studies her spiders happily in Hertfordshire until it is clear someone is trying to attack her. Her brother John Bennet sends her away to his good friend Duke Darcy's estate in Derbyshire. The duke is a cold, forbidding man, who seems to want to remind Elizabeth that she is not allowed in certain spaces in his estate, but she is far too taken by his handsome features to be scared off for long.
Fitzwilliam Matlock, the Duke of Darcy is a man who cannot allow himself to love. His family carries a terrible curse, and he refuses to pass that along to his children. He lives in seclusion in his estate Pemberley, seeking to trouble no one and expecting no one to trouble him. That all changes when he honors a favor for an old friend and opens his house up to a Miss Elizabeth Bennet. She immediately disrupts his peace, and far more disturbing to Duke Darcy, she awakens desire and passion he thought he would never have. More surprising still is how their souls are intrinsically intertwined.Bookmarked by gingercrayon
