He could rain fire again, and again, and again. And it wouldn't change a darn thing. Rhaenyra dies anyway and so does everyone else, Daemon watches the war of pride and dragons end in a pool of poison, doomed to repeat it again. When he finally returns at the start of the war at his sixth circle, words exchanged with a dying Viserys string all of his thoughts together to do the one thing he would have never accept.
Surrender.
Mayhaps, Daemon muses, this will finally anger the Gods.
